WHAT DO YOU NEED?
In both the “old” and the contemporary world, prosperity, adversity, loss, and illness are daily reality. Wherever you lived and however you lived. The malleability of our living environment can be considerable, whereas the malleability of daily life itself is limited. Our everyday life simply happens. And that's always been the case.

Fast forward to the 21st century:
Perhaps you do not have a stable housing situation, or you take care of a chronically ill loved one. Or you have difficulty coping with the work pressure, you acquire a new physical ailment or an extra 2 kilo's on you every year. This is just a selection of situations that you may have to deal with. These examples all point to a type II allostatic (over)load. It means that you are in a situation that exerts an increased load, but it is not so acute that your capacity to adapt is directly exceeded. But this load is present for a long time, continually. Putting you in a prolonged state of survival and stress. You seem to not be able to relax or wind down. You feel it is affecting your health. So, you feel it is important to look for ways to change this.
If you recognize yourself in the above, then ask yourself:
What can I learn and change to live my daily life for better or for worse, with resilience and in health?
